Laying Turf

I have just been looking on the internet for advice on laying turf, found statement on useful web site “lay green side up”. Please tell me no one would get this wrong.

Do you think I have left it too late for sowing grass seed this weekend, my seed is four years old, I think I am pushing it a little.

~ you would like to think so!
~Not sure about how well your seed will germinate but you could give it a try and if it fails buy some turf-had some fairly good stuff yesterday at Wyevale~

~fortunately stacked the right way up!~will probably need some for the bald patches in our lawn courtesy of Harvey!~

Harvey read the wrong instructions.
He thinks it should be green side down. :o)

Hmmm. 4-year old grass seed. The only way of testing it would be to plant some in a tray and find out if it is still OK, but that would delay your grass planting, so I reckon go with the turf....please ensure that you follow the instructions TO THE LETTER to avoid disappointment.... LOL. That website must think that people are idiots!!!!

What scares me is that they think there are people out there who don't know!!!!! If there are .... where do they live?

Hello All, I did test the 4 year old seed this summer and it was fine but that was in best conditions. I have found good quality drought tolerant turf at £2 per sq m. I think I will go for this so I am at least further ahead of the game over seed.

I guess in this litigious world we live in today companies have to cover their ****, that is why a packet of nuts states “the contents may contain nuts”.
