Sunny Sunday

After a couple of weeks of cold weather here in Bracknell, yesterday was finally milder and sunny, triggering some the early bulbs to open at last.
The snowdrops had been in bud for a couple of weeks
And the winter aconites also opened
In the front garden, little patches of yellow and mauve appeared
In the raised bed in the bulb garden, a couple of specie crocus also put on a display.
Crocus antalyensis ‘Blue Sky’
Crocus biflorus subsp nubigena
And it won’t be long before the iris reticulata are in bloom
Winter is slowly giving way to spring.

Excellent......lots of colour!
I love the little Iris Reticulata but mine always got eaten by the mice in my old garden!

I agree....the Irises will be beautiful once they open.

How lovely to see them, I love the little Irises but always lose them, it never occurred to me that its possibly mice, I know they live under my garden shed as once again the evidence is amongst the apple trays, luckily I only store them for the birds to eat over the winter, only a few snowdrops, aconites and one hellebore here but lots of buds forming so won't be long.....
