Whilst we were in the area we went to Ashwood Nurseries.
I was really keen to get some more of their fantastic Supagrow composts but in addition we had some fantastic cake and scones and had a lovely look around.
Five star plants and five star cuisine!Highly recommended!

Hi, I have been looking at your last few blogs, you have had a wonderfully horticultural few days! How nice, i am green with envy. Thanks for sharing your photos. You have got some great trees, both actual an Bonsai-ed. Is it Ashworth or Ashford Nursery (I've forgotton already!) you visited, that looks fantastic. Much neater and cleaner than some of our Yorkshire ones.

~Ashwood nursery~specialises in Hellebores,Lewisias,
Primulas etc and is one of the best I have seen~I think the owner has a very hands on influence and I hope to get to one of his open days some time.

Looks like a lovely place to visit. Why are most of the places like this so far away. We don't seem to have the same kind of nurseries here in Essex. Unless some-one can tell me differently. I know there is Hyde Hall and other venues which are great places to visit, but not strictly nurseries.

wow its more of a garden than a nursery, fantastic, wish we had something a bit closer like this

my local garden centre has plants that have been on display so long the roots have grown around the gravel they are displayed on!!
