~the local wood, 30 yards or so away at the end of the street is truly gorgeous this time of year, quiet, scented and with such a beautiful purple blue carpet. I hope you enjoy these pics as much as I do!!

and after a lovely walk we are off home!!

over the weekend we were also at Llys Nini RSPCA Centre where they are putting in paths to create woodland walks for the public and for the local schools to bring the children for nature lessons
~ however once the Centre closes we had a ramble with the dogs…

Bluebells, appearing at a wood near you~
don’t miss them!!!

Lovely photos, Arlene. The bluebells in our woods were early and now are almost finished. Sad to see them go so soon :(

It's nice to see the bluebells. There's a bluebell wood in the place where I grew up a few miles from here and I was going to visit it this spring but never got round to it

What a fabulous wood! Passing through Swansea on the M4 you would never guess there was anything like that nearby. Have you seen the bluebells on Skomer?
Like Hywel we have not got around to visiting our local bluebell wood, but we do have a few in our little narrow wild bank, so have had out annual fix of the scent!
I have put a couple of wild garlic plants there t keep them company, but hope they don't take over!

A lovely wood - it's a joy to behold! We had a very much smaller wood full of Bluebells not far from here - once upon a time! Sadly the great majority of it was cut down at some point while I was in Spain. It was called "Bluebell Wood" as well. A year or two before going to Spain I was up there taking photos. Sadly even they have disappeared over almost 40 years! :-((

hi there Balcony and Steragram
~I live out of Swansea on the Gower Peninsula and this little wood is at the end of my street ,running at 90 degrees with the road to Parkmill running at the bottom of the bank.It is a small wood owned by a local nature trust and thay are trying to thin out the trees to give the bluebells more of a chance. it is quite secluded and most of the time I am in there on my own although other locals visit at various times during the day.
Steragram~ the next time you pass junction 47 0n your way back home you will run alongside LLys Nini for a bit~it's the local RSPCA centre where my son in law who is the manager lives with my daughter. The bluebells in the latter pics have been encouraged and they are pulling out other weeds to give them more opportunity to spread. They recently took in about 20 dogs who had been rescued from a local puppy farm and they have all been at full stretch to try to get them used to people as they haven't had much contact, they have all been caged~ they will be going up for rehoming soon in the next few days~anyone interested look online.
Gary surprised the staff last week when he got them together and told them they were going for a walk and took the staff out to see the bluebells whilst they were still looking good whilst pointing out the work that is going on to encourage wildlife~logs being left, trees being planted, ducks being encouraged on the ponds, boxes being put up in trees etc~ needless to say they all went out with a dog each to socialise so the time was put to good use~ the dogs enjoyed it too!

Looks like it was a wonderful outing, Arlene. isn't it a treat when nature does her thing so effortlessly and produces vistas like those in your photos with very little help from us? nature is all around us here in the woods..we are settled in and I've been trying to make a dent in the "to do" list. I found bear doo doo near the back gate to the forest and we have had a doe and her fawn trimming my euonymous (newly planted) and sampling the hostas! I don't care a rap... both hubby and I are thrilled that they come to our stream to drink, eat and frolic. Hopefully my camera will be within reach next time they visit...if you stir they bound away..white tails flashing!
