It is Christmas morning here in Suffolk in the east of England, just a 30 minutes drive to the coast.

Yesterday evening, we visited my son daughter and grandchildren, on our way to midnight Mass at our local church; later this morning, we shall join friends for lunch at a Hotel next to the river Waveney. Tomorrow we shall have family coming to us for lunch.

Yesterday, I spent a couple of hours gardening, cutting back the taller roses to prevent wind rock, also cutting back clematis. It is the first time for two weeks, that I had ventured into the garden, having been suffering with a persistent cold-virus, so the fresh air and
activity made me feel much better.

The other uplifting factor was seeing hellebores and primroses in bloom, and also seeing the evergreen clematis showing colour in the flower buds.

happy Christmas David. I cut off foliage on the hellebores earlier in the week and I am delighted to see buds showing their colour above the soil. Glad you have had a lovely run up to today.

Our double white hellebores are in full bud too - won't be long. I guess you won't have been short of wine this Christmas David! Hope you get a chance of a walk on the beach later - we did that this afternoon.
