Just going over last years photographs, came across these….

I am hoping we will not get a repeat of last year!!, we have had some very peculiar weather this month, apparently the hottest February on record…..yesterday 15….today 12 and next week temps of 9, erratic!!
Today was typical March winds and April showers…..I will settle for that, no white stuff here please….

A cheery photograph from today crocus and Palm tree not something you see every day!

Yes, it was very cold last year with the "Beast from the East"!

But do you also remember the strong storm from 2 years ago?

It was just the day before my mother-in-law's death in Spain. We had a terribly difficult day trying to get over there. Just waiting outside our house for the taxi to get to the train station we were being blown about by the wind & had to hold onto each other to avoid being blown over.

Then the trains were delayed & cancelled & we had to get a taxi to take us to the station were we were going to catch a coach to take us to Luton airport.

Fortunately the strong winds didn't stop the plane from taking off. I can't recall the name of the storm at this moment but I'd seldom experienced such strong winds before!

Then this February many old temp records were broken & many new ones made! Just here where we live we had 18C on Tuesday!

Only the other day, hubby and I were saying about the weather this time last year. I have been so fortunate this year as with a new puppy am spending a lot of time in the middle of the night standing in the garden lol. Really hope we don't get any!

Now weather for UK this week end is storm Freya 80 winds and rain across Britain what a difference. If March comes in like a lion it will go out like a lamb the Hydes of March come to mind.

Thanks for the forecast 3p.........it's always windy here, so that's nothing new!!
Jen........you have been lucky, not a good time of the year to be house training a puppy!!
Balcony I can't recall the storms you are talking about, we live in a windy area, so we only notice when it is lovely and still!! 18 deg is ridiculously high for February!
Seaburn, I hope not!! and yes Siris there is still time!!

Oh yes I remember that well, The Beast from the East destroyed my old arch, never mind it gave me an excuse to buy a new one, we have only had one tiny sprinkling of snow this year, about 3wks back, lasted about 30mins, was gone completely by nightfall and that's the way I like it, T-shirts and no sweater last week, cold and grey over the weekend with rain on Sunday, back to sunshine again now but the temps are normal for beginning of Mar, back to wearing my jacket again, its daft isn't it, we have experienced a lot more frosty nights this winter due to our clear skies so keeping an eagle eye on my g'houses, don't want to lose my overwintering plants at this late stage...
