Looking forward to doing some more gardening

The main thing is I have neglected one side of my garden and next week I will be making a start on it which I am quite excited about.
I will be painting the other side or my son will as he has volenteered to do it. Maybe I will let him.
Then I will be weeding and I can’t wait to get stuck into the weeds that are getting quite big over there.
Then the fun part buying plants and that’s what it’s all about.
I fancy buying a blueberry bush.

I'm not sure if mine is acidic, I know it's got lot of clay in it.

You can buy a soil testing kit very cheaply - I think B&Q have them, or else try a Garden Centre. It really does help to know if you have acidic or alkaline soil, it saves a lot of heartache when things die on you....

If after testing you find that your soil isn't as acidic as your Blueberries require, try adding Soil Sulphur (or the equivalent) before planting them, then add food for acid loving plants ac-
cording to package directions.

I'm probably going to leave the blueberrys until next year now it's getting a little late in the season although september is a good time to do some planting :)

I recently found out that Blueberry bushes need acidic soil. I have one that is surviving in my sandy soil. I gave it some Rhodadendron food to see whether it helps.
