Just a big “hello” to all my friends here on GoY. Hope all is well… been enjoying your blogs and pics. Don’t frequent the page as often as in the past so I hope you’ll forgive me if I’ve missed some milestones! Not much to report from here…This past summer was fantastic (if a little dry near the beginning of autumn) Had apples on the trees, nuts on the walnuts, and my perennials were the best they’ve been in this garden. It’s taken me a long time to learn “the ropes” but mostly I try to plant what “survives” and not obsess about what “doesn’t” .. been learning about “prairies” and micro climates… and doing some earthwork. Now I have “terraces” (of sorts) and purchased a proper rototiller to level and cultivate an area taken over by rodents out near the stream.
The poor deer are in the middle of “hunting season” but I’m still seeing their tracks in my veggie garden and they’ve trimmed my hostas again!
I’m making trails and clearing areas of deadfall in the forest… that’s a huge and never ending job that requires more energy than I have at present… when the snow comes hauling the logs out of the bush will be easier. so that’s my excuse, for now.
I’m still working on my kitchen, and bathroom… just so I have something to do in bad weather! (I’m smiling, all my “works” are progressions!)
