New Garden

I thought you might like to see what we have been doing for the last 2 years (nearly).
This is what we bought.

View from the front gate.

Through the gate

The right hand side of the Drive.

More of the drive side

The Bungalow

Top right hand side of the Drive.

Back down the Drive

The Summer House

The back of the Bungalow.

Huge mass of Laurel

Back of the Bungalow from the back hedge

Tree stump and random scattered rocks.

Back to the Summer House

From the rocks to the side of the garden

The back of the Bungalow

Along the hedge to the top corner

In the top corner

The back of the Bungalow

From the Patio down the side garden

Along the side fence

Bottom of the garden

The rear of the Car port with plants we brought.

The shed and the frames (We brought the frames)

Bottom of the garden looking back up the side fence.

Various views to show what state the garden was in.

As you can see there were Leylandii hedges along the top and bottom of the garden and huge conifers along the South side. At the back is a huge Monkey Puzzle.
At least where there are fences they are in reasonable condition.
The soil is an acid clay.

Hello there Ob, so good to see a blog from you, I've been waiting to see your garden, I so loved the last one which if you remember I always likened it to an estate, you still have a big garden from what I can see, has some well established shrubs and trees, I'm looking forward to seeing you put your own stamp on it Ob, take care now but most of all stay safe , healthy, happy and enjoy your new garden...

Lovely pictures. You are lucky to have all that room for beautiful gardens to come.

When you said down sizing I did expect a much smaller plot but compared to where you were this is smaller. a good framework in place to get your teeth into. Were there many pleasant surprises as the first year developed? Any hidden gems? etc.

lots of wonderful potential there.

Your previous garden must have been huge. I still would not consider your new garden as that small. Looks like a nice space to develope.
