First Jobs in the New Garden

The garden is a lot smaller than our old place. It is also a rather odd shape. Across the back it is about 42 metres, then down one side it is about 30 metres and a bit more on the other side. Across the bottom it is about 20 metres.
There is a Drive right up to the top of the property.
All in all it is about a tenth of the size of the last place.
It is also much more shady.
The first job was to deal with the tree stump at the top of the garden and the rocks around it. We brought a number of Alpine plants with us and they needed somewhere quickly.
The stump and the rocks
The stump after the rocks were moved.
It was a very big stump, but the tree had obviously been down for some time as much of it was rotten.
Once the soil had been levelled and with added grit to improve drainage I began placing the rocks.
Soil was packed between the rocks to make them steady.
All the rocks used up.
Planted up and top dressed with gravel.

That must have been hard work looking at the size of those stones. Final effect is amazing, looks like it's been there for years.

Looking good, those rocks are a grand size Ob not easy to move I bet, determination and a picture in your mind of what you want to achieve always helps, I like what you have done..

That looks great, what a job it was to do all that.
Not a easy job to do.
