*Simon and Robin called today bearing, cards, Gifts and big smiles
Robin bought me this lovely glazed pot containing a Daliha all ready to pot up, I have never grown Daliha’s before so this will be a lovely addition to my garden
Simon bought homemade chocolates from Clare [ she wasn’t able to come herself as she was watching her son George play football] but I have had her homemade chocolates before and they are delicious, so looking forward to these tonight with a glass of wine;0)
Simon bought me this unusual book which is a Journal for me to put down my life experiences for him to treasure in the future years. I am delighted and wish I had something like this about my Mothers life as there are so many things that I would love to know about her life and sadly its to late now she is no longer with us.
Now what did I do to thank them for all their love and precious gifts? Well you all know the saying “The way to a Man’s heart is through is stomach” well I made them lunch;0)
A Cheese and Brocolli Quiche!
A Lovely big Choclate Cake [recipe courtesy of Bloomer] it was very yummy and will now be on the family favourites list
The lunch was a perfect end to a very enjoyable afternoon spent together.
Hope all our other Goy Mother’s enjoyed their special day too;0))*

We had family come yesterday as they planned to go to my daughter's husband's family today (but his mom and dad went away in any case).
So we had a chaotic and noisy day yesterday...poor Lucy hid away until she slunk out around midnight checking every little sound to make sure they really had gone home!
We found her sleeping on top of our bedroom wardrobe :)
So...recovery mode for hubby and I today (and Lucy too). I received some American goodies (choccie bars, Oreo cookies...American-made and nicer than the ones you can buy here...Shake 'n Bake coating mix for chicken and some Big Red chewing gum) and of course a lovely card.
Homemade choccies sound lovely and your dahlia looks to be a nice colour, from Robin. I've not seen the particular book you received...it's a lovely idea (a good winter project for you?).
I got an online card from our son in Canada (he wrote on a photo of Lucy and I). Cute

What a lovely day Pansypotter! I envy you as I live too far from my gorgeous sons to give them a hug, but I had an e-mail from my youngest with love and nice wishes. From him I get it twice, because in France the Fete de Meres is later in the year, he lives in the Cote d'Azure so I will probably get a card next time! And from my eldest I had a phone call and a lovely bouquet from Aquarelle. He was cycling 140 km in the Tour of Flanders Sportive in Belgium at the weekend so was also this side of the Channel, although still about 700 miles away! I did however get a lovely card from my 12 year old grandson "From your Grandson on Mothers Day" which of course filled me with joy.

Jacquie you sound as though you have had a lovely family day , hetic and busynoisy and lots of nice eatable pressies too, we will all have to go on a diet , hope Lucy settled down after all the visitors;0)
Thanks Mariek pleased you like my luncheon, the Chocolate is one of Bloomers recipes and is on her site, its every bit as good as it looks, the quiche is one of my own conncoctions so will post the recipe as soon as I get time;0)
Sandra sounds as though you have enjoyed your day, despite Thomas's musical contributions lol one year old, how time flies, its nice to both be able to celebrate on the same day! Love the idea of your Show present especially a girls night out on the town ;0) Going to finish my Chocolate cake off at teatime very yummy!!
Thanks Sixpence Robin had two Carers with him so it was a case of the way to 5 male hearts ;0)
Troddles I am lucky to have both my sons living a short distance away, but its nice to hear that you were not forgotten despite the miles that separate you from your family and the card from your Grandson was a lovely thought ,distance is not a barrier where love is concerned.
Thanks Amy pleased you have had lots of lovely flowers and meals out dont worry about a couple of pounds, me too I think lol It is nice having birthdays/Mothers Day close together you really do feel pampered and loved!
Thanks Val hope your day was special too;0)

I'm playing 'catch-up' on GoY, what a lovely, cheerful blog, Pp! The cake looks fantastic, is the recipe on here at all? The journal is a lovely idea, I'm just finding out things about our family from my 84yr. old Mum that I had no idea of until now. Thankfully, no skeletons in the cupboard, so far. : o ))
