I seem to remember a discussion a while ago, about whether one similar to yours was Johnson's Blue or not,Carole..Sorry I don't know, but like Simbad,I love the really blue one..what a beauty..where have you been hiding that one from me ?? Lol.x

The top one looks more like magnificum to me than J. Blue, which doesn't have that purple centre. The bottom one looks like Nimbus. But it's impossible to be sure because the colour blue never seems to come true on camera does it?!

I agree its not JB and I recently posted a photo of my J B which is a lavender blue with a paler centre. I love the second one and will look out for it.

I agree with Karen, I'm sure the first one is G. x magnificum and no. 2 could well be 'Nimbus' if it's a little darker in your garden than the photo shows. The leaves are right.

I'd go magnificum for the first too, it has a furrier leaf than JB too.

I too love them, but that bottom picture is gorgeous and I am not a fan of blue. I too think it is not J.B. as that has a whiter centre. Off to look for Nimbus now, you have set me off. lol :O)

Now I am confused as some of the pictures of 'Nimbus' are much pinker think I will leave until we get a better idea of which it is. :O) although the foliage looks right for Nimbus. :O) will wait and see what everyone else thinks.

Mum, Nimbus is very blue in reality. Some of the photos on Goy are wrongly labelled.....its getting worse, but I've grown Nimbus, so I know what it's like, and the leaves are lovely - similar leaves to G. Clarkei - very pretty divided leaves.

thanks Karen, I did wonder. Yes I love the foliage :O)

Oops...I didn't mean the photos on GOY are wrongly labelled!!! I meant the photos on GOOGLE are often wrongly labelled! Sorry everyone...what must you think of me. Apparently earlier yesterday I called Wellies 'Willies' ...it's this bug I've got....I'm not my self! ;)

Thanks all for your sugestions I will definately go with Magnificum for number one, and I think Nimbus for number to [it does have very pretty finely divided leaves and the colour on the photo is a tad deeper than in reality].
So thanks again for your participation and your debate ;0))

I once wrote a paper about the distribution of organisms for work but in my typing haste I missed the ni out. spell check didn't pick it up but it caused hilarity for months! so willies/willies is nowt in comparision :o)

Lol! It must be the IPad predictive text, it much prefers willies to Wellies!!

Lol very funny I knew what you meant anyhow

Could the top one be either 'Johnson's Blue' or 'Magnificum' ? I bought both of these and they look so similar, no idea about the bottom but it's lovely, is it really that blue!! it's stunning :-)
