a pleasant surprise

I looked at my web profile today and saw an addition which said “My Website”. Pressed it and there I was. I have tried to keep quiet about what I am doing in the Nursery as I thought it would look too commercial. Apparently no one minds, so I can chat on about what I have been doing without worrying. I’ll start with today. After seeing the lovely Cacti on Sandra’s blog. I thought it time to tidy up my Succulents. which were in a very poor condition. Over watered. A friend and I fixed up a watering system to water the main Greenhouse and the two plastic tunnels. Very effective too, but this damp and cloudy summer made it wrong for the succulents.and the greenhouse itself, which like myself is really ancient and wooden. The well misted conditions caused MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS (Solierolia) to grow and keep moist all the woodwork. IVY had made its way in from outside and it has taken me several days to scrape it all clean. Also to cut back Succulents, that should have been neat and short jointed, but had gone floppy.. At last it has started to look as it should. The weather improved so I searched for the main stem of the IVY . It was locked in behind a gigantic TREE PAEONY (Paeona delavayi lutea). A job for the loppers. It also cleared the pathway that made sure one was watered whenever we passed it. It shows up the water butt which has a resident Goldfish, to keep it free from Mosquito larvae.
This shows the messed up edge.

This is the outside showing the Paeonia delavayi lutea
and the water tank.

I shall have to pop in one day as I often pass the sign for Eversley on the B3349.

A lot of effort. Does the gold fish get lonely?
