It's Spring in Houston! (Don't blink or it will disappear!)

Honestly, spring doesn’t last very long in Houston. This year, however, it has been cooler than usual, we had a very cold snap in February (and I mean REAL cold, the temps dropped to 27 F! in HOUSTON!!) from which the flowers and plants are still trying to recover. But finally spring has sprung, and I wanted to share pictures of what a Houston spring looks like to me. As you’ll see, it is an ode to redbuds (my favorite spring tree!!) and azaleas tiny violets and even the moon. Enjoy!
The redbuds bloom….in delicate puffs of lavender:
Are these redbuds in a different color? Or is it a completely different tree? How did I miss it for almost 9 years?? The color is scrumptious, however…reminds me of cherries, and strangely enough, cherry pies…
Azaleas, often seen as overgrown bushes, can seem ordinary…but take a close look and their beauty and delicacy shine through:
Azalea buds ready to burst forth:
These tiny violets always make me smile…even in red and yellow:
And a clear moon in the cool evening spring:

Such nice trees and flowers. Certainly brightens up the place. Raining here in London ant the moment, but we haev already had a few cool, but sunny days, and more to come. I shoudln't be complaining about the rain, because it is watering the garden while I am at work.

Thank you all for all your comments! I hope you're having a warm and sunny Spring...or that it will come soon... =)
We haven't had much rain (it usually rains quite a bit in Houston) but it is cloudy today...cool and low humidity, so I better enjoy it while it lasts! =)
