Hampton Court in the rain....

Anyone else out there who thought the first day of Hampton Court Palace Flower Show would be a good idea? No, I thought not……
I have not been for 5 years. Last time it was a blazing hot day. This year the sky spent most of the day looking like this…
…or this…..
….and I passed a hefty amount of time in crowded marquees looking at this….
(These guys seem to have the right idea!)
The Fijian dancers did their best, but they looked a bit chilly…..
……as did the ladies demonstrating their craft work.
The show leant heavily towards recycling, ecology and being green – there were 3 washing lines full of assorted undies planted up as hanging baskets!
There were lovely displays in the various marquees.
There were Tudor gardens, Tudor scarecrows, Henry VIII was much in evidence and he even sang one of his own compositions for us, accompanied by a couple of his wives(!). I did count 6 of them with him at one point…..
This is going to have to be part one of a 2 part blog………more later!

Despite the weather you've taken some great pics, especially like the last one. ;-)) Looking forward to seeing more.

The garden in the last pic looks like it's been there forever! Hope the rain didn't put too much of a dampener on things for you, it's such a shame when it rains heavily and spoils all the hard work of the exhibitors. Would like to see some more pics of what I missed.

Might be next week before I can face the time it takes to upload more pics - I'll have to take them at less than 6meg. next time!
I got ticked off by one of the Beeb's film crew gophers for photographing while James Wong was being filmed - the flash was off, and I'd also switched off the electronic beep and shutter sound, so I just ignored her!! (Anyway he speaks too fast to camera!)
