Tragic Tom's!

Wonderful crop of “Marmande” tomatoes which I have been regularly picking weighing about 400 – 500gr each one. They make great sandwich filling and also a Spicy Tomato Relish that the family love.
However, we are having a pretty hot Summer down here and this week on the shady terrace the temperature was a steady 36C until nearly 7 in the evening. Suffice to say in the sun it was pretty unbearable, certainly for my poor tomatoes which have literally got sunburned except on tomatoes the reverse effect it stripped the colour pigment…anyway I rescued the worse victims and they are going to ripen inside with a banana for assistance! Talk about fried green tomatoes.

With the weather we have been having sundried tomatoes would certainly be an option Bornagain, I have never encountered opaque toms before and looked it up on the net!
All my almost ripe toms nestle in the arms of a banana Pamq! Sunburned or not. I feel guilty complaining when I think of all those disappointing English summers but it really is unbearable at times this year. And difficult for gardening after about noon which can be frustrating.
