Cant believe it was March when I last blogged! We have still been working on the garden and it seems to be coming along nicely. Here are a few pictures….
Any ideas for what we could put here??

There are peas, sweet peas and clematis growing up the trellis. Near the gate at the back fence we have 2 honeysuckles and a virginia creeper. We have sown grass seed to complete the grass circle. Lobelia edge the large 'boob' shaped bed, with some acers in the middle. Any ideas for plants here? My husband hopes to get a greenhouse for the bottom (slabs ready and waiting) and in the bottom right corner my daughter is waiting on delivery of a wooden playhouse. The shed is my husbands new love, at 10ft x 8 ft its fitted the space beside the house perfectly. The little seedings in pots beside the shed are livingstone daisies, my husbands favourite.

Gosh, what an achievement! And loads of room for planting. Difficult to suggest what to plant. I'm a hardy geranium enthusiast (see my blogs) and I can see some of them in the blank canvas in your garden. Also, some roses (as part of the border, not as a separate rose bed, which, to be honest, is boring.) One that is doing well for us this season is Rosa Complicata, which seems to satisfy my criteria of, firstly, being able to survive in my garden, and, secondly, being pretty well self sufficient. A point re planting: consider what you put in from various viewpoints, including how they will look from the house, as well as from the garden itself. Lucky you with such a blank canvas.

PS: Don't, whatever you do, plant ivy!!!! Anywhere. Anytime. For any reason.

Doddy555 it's a kind of broom - it's really very pretty when the red and yellow vagreated flowers come out. Flowers have passed now though, this photo was taken a few weeks ago

Yes, I agree with Homebird. I see that you have used every part of the garden too. It's really pretty. I see you have a figure of 8 lawn! I had that in my old garden, it's really smart isn't it. I expect you've found things to plant in those spaces by now...looking forward to seeing what you've done next spring.
