How did you plan it out?

Thanks for the comments. We used circles in our last garden and it made the small space feel larger. We liked that idea so much we took it to this garden when we started thinking about the plan. The garden sloped a lot towards the bottom of the garden so we realised that to make it more manageable a terrace was going to be most practical. We came across a load of wood being thrown in a skip by one of our neighbours so (with permission) salvaged it to create the retaining walls etc. Everything just took shape from there. Lots of hard work digging and levelling and dealing with the quagmire at the foot of the garden. Everything drains nicely now and the plants are starting to thrive!

like the way you have used the edging stones to creat shapes, did you both plan it or is one of you the designer and one the planter.

Isn't it amazing how much bigger it looks now! Great plan!

I created the circles but most of the credit goes to my husband.
The ideas come from his head but I don't know where his imagination comes from as his day job is in a stuffy office behind a desk as a risk analyst! I think this is his real passion and the weekends are a release - we always take a trip to the garden centre on Saturday morning and invariably we come back with another boot load of plants!

That's wonderful....you both share your passion...my OH is not keen on GCs I'm afraid, but I don't let that put me off! lol....he does like the results, but would rather be on the golf course....fine by me..I have a credit card! ;))
