Grow Your Own

I missed Grow Your Own when it came to the cinema earlier this year but I watched it this weekend on DVD. The wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
The film is inspired by the Family Refugee Support Project which aims to understand the mental health needs of refugees through horticulture. Though the story ending is predictable it does not, in my opinion, take away from a very entertaining and well made British film.
I am surprised I haven’t seen or heard much much about this film. Certainly worth watching for the small glimpse into allotment life.
Seen it? What did you think? Not seen it? Watch it.

Thanx 4 reminding me about this film. I have read loads about it, and saw a lot of coverage on TV, including the detail which was put into creating real veg plots for the film sets. I, like weemamabell, don't think the film has made it here to Scotland yet, but have just added this to my xmas wish list. Is it widely available now on DVD?

Hi David. I think it must be widely available. We got the disc out through our postal DVD rental service (lovefilm.com).
