Okay, thanks - although I used to use those as navigation points when checking back for answers I'd posted publicly, lol! Nice to have the counter back though, more likely to notice messages when they come in with that.

Brilliant! Will really simplify PM's and also good to have the option to delete any messages I don't need to keep for further viewing. It's a bit of a shock to see how many PM's I have after only a couple of months on here! lol

I've got one criticism - when you reply to a PM, you still have to mark it as seen, even though you've sent a response to it already...

yes mavis, if you click private messages then you can see recieved or sent, and any comments are in comments which it say how many you have since logging on and how many since you last logged on, this way you will know if you have any private messages

This was a surprise! It was also a surprise to see I have over 150 PMs in my PM folder! I hadn't realised that in the year & a half I've been on here that I'd sent /received so many!

I like Bamboo used them as markers, but the ability to rdelete them is great - just a pity its quite laborious to do so, as only one at a time can be removed, as I estimate I have over 400 I can now, delete I guess I will be busy!

i have 1401 lol, see in a couple of weeks guys haha

It is tedious to delete the old messages....has anyone found a way to do the deletion more quickly?

There are some messages that I'd want to keep but I reckon there are many PM's that could be discarded as they are general chit chat. But some have good advice for me and I'd want to retain those.

San...I don't know how you managed to get rid of 100....I only managed about 15 or so and didn't have the patience to carry on!

We wil make a change to automatically mark a message as read when you reply - nice idea Bamboo.

Also, if anyone wants us to mass delete their old read messages or all their sent messages just send in a contact us request and we can do it for you. Please note that this would be a permanent delete of all your messages, so make sure you really want to delete all of them.

I have noticed that I have begun to miss, recently, Pms and replies, amidst the many daily comings and goings now on GOY, so, I can rectify those now.

Also, it has "bothered" me, in the past (but always was at the back of my mind, so never thought enough about it when here to mention), that folks were exchanging addresses, contact numbers, etc., by PM, and they were always going to be on here.

As I go through, am finding it easier, and quicker, to find the links and nursery addresses I want to find, too, given by members in the past.

I have some messages I want to save so I won't be able to use your kind offer, Ajay. Is there no way to add a mass delete button to any that are ticked by us as not wanting to save. Or a "save" button to ensure particular ones can be saved? All a bit techi-challenging for my brain....lol

There should be a way of doing what you suggest Whistonlass, by ticking or marking in some way and then selecting a 'delete ticked' but not sure it's worth it - from now on, we're all likely to delete anything we don't want to keep fairly quickly, its just getting rid of any backlog, but once that's done, no need, and I'd imagine writing all the new code would be a bit heavy duty.

Sandra and Denise, why do you need to delete all your messages? If you have no interest in any of them you will have no need to look back through them so why not just ignore them? Or maybe you have tidy minds and are better at 'housekeeping' than me! :o)) I'm just curious.

Lily its because they cannot be organized that they had to go. Now they have gone (over 800 in total) I can keep those I wish to and it will be quick to refer to a specific one.

lily i had so many and have addresses i had from msg`s and now its all clear i can keep or delete what i need, but normally write down addresses right away,just dont see the point in keeping as they take up space on here and computor i guess lol i had over a thousand

Hmmm..... I have over 1000 too and although it's a lot to go through I would still like the option as I may wish to refer back to something in the future. As for organizing surely you only need to deal with anything from today's date onwards and ignore the rest? I do agree about computer space especially from GOY's point of view and I do see that it makes it all neat and tidy but even so........no wonder my house is full of clutter! LOL

I commented on a blog which obviously disappears from my news page but I can't remember its title so I looked for my 'outbox' but can't find it....

Hi Pam, you now have a 'comments' box. It's next to the messages box on your homepage. If you go into it you'll find there are 'received' and 'sent' options. These are your inbox and outbox for comments other than pms. Lots of senior moments here too, it took me a while to suss it out too!

lol lily, i have a small book and if someone sends me info i want to keep i always jot it down just incase i ever end up not having a laptop or computer. dont worry about clutter i have my fare share to lol
