Allotgirl arrives on the scene!

Hiya- it’s Lou here. I am now Ernie’s faithful sidekick. Devoid of all knowledge about growing your own but willing to learn from Allotman Ernie! My dad was a keen allotmenter but sadly he died before he got the chance to pass on his knowledge on to me. So, I want to gain that knowledge back and maybe pass it on to my own son. I am more than happy to supply labour in return. Yesterday I spent a happy hour picking out a broken pane of glass that was lurking under a carpet! Oh, and I harvested my first ever crop of carrots that i grew this summer in an old enamel breadbin in my back garden. Will post a photo later. I think they are best described as diminutive!

Welcome to GoY Lou, well done with the carrots I have done same this year, my first try at growing veggies with a little failure but more success, it is satisfying to say 'I grew those'.

Well done and welcome from me too. I'm sure you and Ernie are a winning team and with the help of GoY maybe it will be HUGE carrots next year!
