Here are some photo’s of my front border that I have had to replant after my decorative crap apple tree died. I have planted an ornamental malus royal beauty in its place surrounded by mexican flea bean, a few geraniums and two delphiniums, a few tulips and a erysimum. Had quite a job digging out years or Chinese lantern!! Quite curious to watch it all grow and hopefully come together. The fourth picture is what it looked like before.
I hope you like to use of my tights to tie tree to stake!

lincslass- weather is looking up this week so hoping it will all have a chance to grow and spread out. I get nervous when leaving bare patches of soil as there are so many cats around here and they will use it as a toilet. Had to run out yesterday during the strong winds to stake the baby delphiniums as they were being blown around and in danger of snapping in two!

Luckily I treated myself to some new supports last week and had already placed them out, my bottom lawn was covered in twigs from the willow tree this morning, at least the wind died down today but was still cold...

Amsterdam-what kind of apple tree was it that died?

Davros- not sure because it was already planted when we moved in. I think it was an ornamental crap apple tree that had been there 35-40 years and just gave up the ghost. It had pink blossom in spring - (around now) and lovely red cherry like fruits in the autumn.

Yes I do like the tights, I can remember pinching one of hubby's belts when we had to replace our plum tree, took him two years to notice and boy was he pathetic about it, lol.....I think its good to watch things come together when having to replace something, hope it does well for you.....
