the time of the tree lillies!!! and other delights

I have been anticipating these since last year, worth every day, I can smell them from 3 flights up through ma kitchen window and they are stunning, too close together may I add so will need to be spaced properly and not just thrown in the ground next year lol x

my Osiris rose has a flower on it, much to my surprise, its not as bold as it should be, very watercolour effect, and all my roses have black spot, I read its by water lying on the leaves, and have sprayed all of them with milk as suggested, anybody else got tips for blackspot??

our potato crop did really well this year, charlottes, maris piper and apache potatoes, 13 kg of potatoes in total, I was well impressed, so was ma son who grew them, and they tasted amazing, we took about 20 potatoes camping and buried them in the fire, when u broke them open it was like golden, the best way x

our carrots were great too, so sweet and tasty

and a bunch of onions

we have just yesterday removed our beds we grew the potatoes and onions in and replaced them with funky raised beds painted all different colours so ill get a pic on as soon as iv took one.

I have entered my first ever gardening competition through my local council, best newcomer category he he, just for the taking part, but its given me that wee push to sort bits n pieces that needed attention, like my poor wee puddle at the corner of my garden aka the pond, its got loads of wee creatures in it, one newt, water snails and all sorts, so I got the wellies on and went in the 20 or so inches of water and sorted it out.

that was about 4 days ago I done that and the plants have taken on really well, there is a lovely hydrangea growing through the fence from the woods so that adds a nice touch when it flowers.

I have taken hundreds of pictures of the progress in the garden and I love the before and after shots, its blows my mind what can come from such a small seed or plant or something that wasn’t there and then bang its grown and so so beautiful, so here are some of them.


there are nasturtiums, runner beans, a few succesfull sweet peas, and begonias and petunias round the bottom, this was taken 2 weeks ago and its well up now, its a bit daunting to sit in as the bee’s it attracts is amazing.

this has livingstone daisies in it, and some pansies justabout finished. I found them very hard to handle as seedlings so I just planted them in clumps and they have spread well, the wee flowers you get are amazing, the colours are zingy, only on a sunny day though

did you see the size of the sunflower, there is another one the same size if not bigger at the other side of the garden, the one in the flower bed is autumn gold one other normal sunflower has flowered also, there huge about 7ft.
