New kid on the block

Oh, my goodness. I can’t believe all the welcoming comments. Thanks, everyone. My first big challenge was finding out where to answer the blogs — and I found it in no time at all. Hope everything else is as easy.
We have a lot of gardening in our new location but are looking forward to things coming up in the spring, even though we still have some flowers blooming yet.
Sounds like you’ve got a lot of information from Whistonlass. Yes, I live in Sechelt. It’s still on the BC coast (Sunshine Coast) but the only roads are only logging roads. It would take too long to drive all that way, not to mention dirty cars and probably some damage to the undercarriage of your car. 40 minute ferry is much better.
We’ve just recently put the bird feeder up. Can’t have it up during the summer (unless you take it down every night) because of the bears and raccoons. Once they go into hibernation, the feeders come out. Just took a picture today of the Stellar Jay and I’m going to try and put it up. Wish me luck.
Thanks everyone.

what a stunning bird. I've been on GoY for a couple of years now and I still find it full of useful info. I got my girls to scrub /disinfect the bird feeders yesterday, saving me a job. But where OH has put the nuts is a mystery.

That's a fine looking bird there, Ann. Great minds think alike...I've just put up my bird feeder (with peanuts) and also a fat cone in the apple tree today!
Glorious sunshine today so even got to the local Focus DIY and got 3 large pots and planted one up with an assortment of bulbs via my good friend, Daisyco.
Sorry if I stole your thunder with all the info on GOY....bet you can think up some more interesting things to share though....lol :)
I didn't know about the logging roads and thought the only way to Sechelt was via the ferry....so that was something new I learned today.
