Hi,
Just found this site and looking for other local gardeners to learn from and share my new found gardening interest with ( my husband doesn’t ).Can’t wait for summer.I have planted some seeds and they are now straggling all over the windowsil-apparently because they have not got enough light -first lesson learnt !

A big welcome from me too! I have also planted lots of seeds which I keep on the windowsill, dont worry they do look straggly to begin with but once they get their first two true leaves I prick them out and plant them on, its amazing then how quickly they grow, good luck with yours;0)

I'm in Northwich, so at least in the same county as you! I planted seedlings too early as well but they're doing OK, although I keep trying to put them out in the greenhouse and they're none too keen to stay out there for long! You're the first Cheshire gardener I've found on here so far, I was hoping to meet some local gardeners, but most seem to be from a long way from here:(
Hope you enjoy GoY and don't hesitate to ask any questions you need to:)

Hi welcome from me too, It doesn't seem to matter that we are spread far and wide, Oz, Nz,usa as well as up and down the country.
Its so interesting to get to know how everyone copes with their gardens......and how much we all have in common, I hope you enjoy being here

Welcome to GoY Artemisia, I'm another Cheshire girl (hello Louisa too by the way!). This is certainly a good place to share an interest in gardening and to pick up ideas and advice :)

While the bad weather continues its a good idea to hunt around for people with polytunnels who grow plants to sell
in May, maybe to fund Scout Groups, or for Open Gardens Schemes. You could then organise your garden more easily, as well as trying to grow from seed. Also local gardener's Groups have plant sales in May. Worth joining.
The Hardy Plant Society is another good one, they have plant sales.
The Alpine Garden Society local groups usually have plants to sell at their meetings, they are special interest plants.
Later on go to Church Flower Festivals, there is quite often a Plant Stall there, where you could find more to fill in the gaps. Meantime look at photos of gardens on Goypedia.
Hubby Wubby will be quite surprised how quickly you create a beautiful garden !

I think there are a few more Louisa, but they're probably not on a lot, or don't get the chance to read all the blogs (I know I've certainly missed quite a lot lately - there's just not enough hours in the day!). If you hover over someone's avatar it tells you where they're from, well, their county/country anyway ... which is great if you're nosey like me ;o)
