… around the cash machine!

A short time ago I removed the Geraniums & Fuchsias I had put in the planters around the cash machine back in July 2024 & replaced them with Daffodil bulbs & other spring flowering plants.

First some photos of “Before” :

Planters around cash machine

Fuchsias & Petunias flowering in planter

This is the first, the one that was closest to the road.

Variegated Geraniums in planter

This was the 2nd one (the one in the middle).

Cosmos flowering in planter

This was the 3rd, the one furthest from the road. It was the very first I planted up in July 2024.

& some of “After”:

Primroses & Daffodils just put in planter

I later added some Pansies as this was a little “bare bones”!

Cyclamen & Daffodils just put in planter

I later added some Pansies as this also was a little “bare bones”!

After removing the Cosmos plants this is what I did:
Daffodil bulbs just put in planter

Pansies just put in planter

This is the 3rd planter, the one that had the Cosmos in.

In all 3 planters I put in some Daffodil bulbs.

I put the Primroses that had survived the summer on the balcony in the 1st planter (the one closest to the road).

In the middle planter I put in the Cyclamen that had also resisted the summer on the balcony but looked bad in comparison to the 3 new plants I bought this year. I expect them to survive the winter in the planter.

In the 3rd planter, the one that had the Cosmos in, I put 24 Pansy plugs my son had bought for me a couple of weeks earlier.

The local cats have discovered they can use the planters as their local “convenience!

I probably won’t do any more blogs on these planters around the cash machine until the Daffodils are up.

Thanks for the updates and pleased to hear the planters are still going, even if “repurposed” as cat loo, not pleasant if you find out too late.

Were the daff named or a mixed bag from a supermarket etc?

Thanks Grandad for the comment! The Daffs weren't named they were a mixed bag from a supermarket £3 for a bag of 30 bulbs. I wasn't about to spend a lot of money getting anything better. These planters are used by the local cats as their toilet. I shan't be putting my hands in them!!! People sometimes throw bottles or other things in them but there weren't many during the summer.

It's nice that you're planting things in the 'planters', they'd look terrible empty, and would probably fill with rubbish and weeds.

You are quite right, Hywel! Before I put some plants in them at the end of July they were filled with weeds that grew head high! There was some rubbish but not much really considering they are very close to a pub & the local shops.
