Around my Patio
10 comments
I’ve finished work early this morning so i thought i’d post a quick blog of some more pictures around my garden.
This was all planted last year, everything apart from an acer in the middle is coming on nicely.
Same again all planted last year and seem to be doing well.
This picture is for Yorkshire, is this a Heuchera?
I think this is called Apple Blossom, i bought it last year and gambled by dividing into 4. luckily it paid off and all growing nicely.
Its surprising how quick this Dicksonia Antarctica fern has gone from looking like a big log to springing all these fronds in a matter of weeks. I don’t really want to keep it on the patio because its going to be so huge, but i love it.
Some of my Azaleas.
I bought this as a small plant 4 years ago, but it was outgrowing where i had put it. I dug it up and thought it would look nice as a Christmas tree outside my front door. I didn’t think it would survive all the moving but this year its produced two purple cones on the top. I’m not sure what its called if anyone knows could you tell me please.
I suppose after working last night i had better get some shut eye..

Great blog..I like the way you have edged the beds there. I will have a guess on the cones as Picea likiangensis var. purpurea.
But I am more than likely wrong. Have a word with Severnside he will know what it is.

Very attractive patio beds Bill, I do like the edging bricks and the curves they really set it off, nice healthy looking plants..

Beautiful photos, Bill! I think your tree might be Abies Koreanus, but perhaps not... The cones are lovely.

Thanks Terratoonie,Hywel,Yorkshire,Pimpernel,Lincslass,Cinderalla,Stroller,Scottish and Melchisedec.
I think your right Melchisedec i remember now it was definitely Abies something or other but Koreanus rings a bell. I really must pay more attention to what i plant. I honestly thought all the moving about would kill it off but nope its still doing well..
The curved edging bricks were the paving guys idea Pimpernel,Lincslass to try and make it more interesting with the rest being just cheap plain paving i'm glad you like it too.
Considering what it looked like just a year ago i consider myself lucky that i was fortunate to get it all paved..
