Scraping the Barrel to find something the rain has not washed out.
About 4pm put my boots on and risked life and limb to go down to the Fern bed and this what I found.
These are the first Astilbes in flower in the garden
This bit being very photogenic
Mentioned before the Royal Fern flowering in a strange way i find it fascinating ,I suppose because I don’t associate ferns with flowers
These are in the same area the planters are screwed to a log which branched three ways They are about three feet off the ground.
The top Fern in the picture is what the baby ferns (Polystichum Setiferum) should look like in about four years time, just one option to keep them in pots.
Only other thing blooming was Jamie and did not think you need another picture of him.

Love your white Astilbe. The flowers on the Royal Fern are most unusual and I agree with you rather fascinating, I've not come across them before. Will they make some kind of seed/spore which you can use for propagation?

The Astilbes and Ferns really compliment each other Brian, it was well worth the effort to get the photograph for us to see and much appreciated..

that white astilbe and the Polystichum Setiferum are absolute gems, i love your idea of screwing the pots to the log.
