Sweet peas arrived

Woohooo my sweet peas arrived.
I was a little surprised when all 80 sweetpeas turned up in a 3 inch pot shock
I had already potted on a few of them before I remembered to take a photo LOL
These are Giant Spencer Waved Sweet Peas.
Thank you GOY members for the idea of paper pots LOL
Now do I leave them outside to grow a bit or plant them straight in the ground ?
Ran out of newspaper LOL

Certainly do :O)
I'm going to be putting them along a wall in the back garden as well as in pots against a pergola and to climb a trellis against a front wall.
Garden borders are pretty empty at the moment.
I have put 4 plants in each paper pop as that is what was on the instructions that came with them.
Never grown a sweet pea before in my life but these ones are supposed to be highly scented.

Hi, I've grown sweetpeas for the first time this year and have been surprised how well they germinated! Haven't mastered the toilet rolls for planters, all mine went mouldy.

When the flowers fade, nip them off to promote more flowers.
Take some pics when they do flower also towards the end of the season let a few flowers turn into pods then keep the seeds for next year.
I do this all the time and I havnt bought sweet pea seeds for a few years now.
Also when they get about 4 sets of leaves nip the top off to promote bushy growth.
I also grow mine with runner beans.

I grow mine with runners too. they help the pollination of the bean as they attract bees in too. Love them. I really must get mine planted soon.

They look really healthy, do you have a large area to grow them in, I only have space for a few. Have you grown the variety before and is it scented?
I`d be tempted to put some straight outside, mine have been out for 6 weeks now, but I did sow them last October and grew them in a cold greenhouse over winter.
