2014 Home grown fruit & veg

To say that there is n’t much is an understatement.

Last year were we had no blueberries on the bush. This year so far I have eaten 2 & Mrs B 1. They were big and colourful but I have not been asked for more as they are according to Mrs B ….sour…..

4 seed potatoes.At the time all my normal pots were full of Spring/early Summer bulbs.So I had 2 big containers 1 medium & 1 tiny. After a big fanfare the tiny one contained …..guess…..and if you get it right I’ll give you both of them.They were nice!!!Today in the medium pot was 5.

Plums were OK but mainly out of reach or even next door. Apparently the 4 guinea pigs can have 1 a week.

One pot grown miniature apple tree has 3 apples.
By the back door in the shade. The pot is ancient just like the 2 with spuds in!!! The other tree is in the ground & normally has about 8 or more. This yr its none. The neglected one had more fruit….Oh well

The tomatoes & alpine strawberries are adding a bit of colour. I might have invented alpine tomatoes.

Your Blueberry needs repotting in Ericaceous compost.
Then given an Ericaceous plant feed in the Spring.
Then standing in a tray with 1" of water at their base.
I have picked a small plastic pot full most days.
Worth £2 a pot. Putting in the freezer to enjoy in
the winter. Very high in Vit C..

Up date on spuds...the 2 massive pots had 10 between them.....I was expecting more...I guess size is not everything.....enough for a meal.....

blueberries increasing..3-3 ...we also have indoor chillies or small peppers ....edible I guess abt 15
