Your Marguerites look great Cristina. I can see a lot of Nasturtium in the background. It looks brilliant in your garden. I grew it once and the following year there were millions of seedlings all over my garden. I suppose I did not do enough deadheading. Some people eat the flowers in salads. I tried it once and didn't like it.

Wow, Cris. my how they have grown so fast!!! You have got more flowers than me Lol!!!! They look really happy there in that bed. I only kept a small patch going in my garden and have about five/six flowers, Hilarious, I will be asking you to send them back to me LOL. ha ha. Thanks for the blog, I am delighted that they have grown for you and you are more than welcome, Oh how nice it is to share! x

Lovely photos of your garden, i have margerites in my garden and i think they look really nice and they brighten up my garden great.

They're lovely Cris! Remember to deadhead them or you'll have gazillions of them! But then again you can transplant them around the garden, they really brighten the borders don't they! Are they margerites or Shasta daisies?

They're looking lovely. :)

These look lovely Cristina my friend. I just remembered that I bough a large pot of these last year and planted them in a large tub in the front garden. They have not come up this year so they must have gone. I can see that you are blessed with the proverbial 'green fingers'

Lovely Christina, brilliant way to cover fence behind, love it.....

I think they're Shasta daisies, aren't they? So they should come back nest year. :-))
7 Aug, 2011
Is Shasta a modern name Spritz? as my Nan always called them Marguerites and these were a clump from her garden from over twenty five years ago.

They are doing well, obviously happy where you planted them....

They look so nice, and are doing so well. That was such a nice thing for Grand, adge to do, and it is always good to find good homes for healthy but unwanted plants.

there are some climing roses in that border as well , out be fore the daisys .
i have never herd of shasta daisys either , you learn something every day ............... and thats y i am here lol .
the fence is made from bits of rustic wood tied together with wire , got the idea from david ............ where is he by the way lol ...........

If they're perennials, then 'Shasta Daisies' is the common name for them. The Latin name is 'Leucanthemum'. I know a lot of people call them 'Marguerites' but to me, those are the annual ones. Anyway, what's in a name? lol.
They look lovely. :-)

are ok ........... thanks i remeber that !! am here to learn ............;0)))

Yeah, I think I read something about marguerites being non hardy. We have shastas here but they're less compact than yours and don't have the pretty dark stems :P
-Whats that plant in the left of the fourth photo? We saw something like that in holland and couldn't figure out what it was.
Its all looking v. pretty :))
