The poppies that appeared in the front garden have come out, they are not the single red opium poppy but a double.
No idea how they got into the garden, they were not here last year and none of the gardens around us have the double poppy. I need to have a word with my next door neighbour, she has the wonderful red poppies in her garden, will ask if I can have a ripe seed head and try growing some from seed.
I have 2 verbascum flowering in the front garden too, I have never managed to grow them before. I would love the yellow one, will have to see what I can find.
We are going to have to tackle the kerria and also the laurel that grows behind it, the rain has made them both shoot up. they are now making the shady part of the herbaceous bed in the back positively dark!!
OH wanted to cut the back grass but it was still too wet, he will have another try tomorrow.
Daughter is coming tomorrow after lunch to put the plastic green house up for us. It will be well tied and weighted down.

That's a splendid plant to have appeared on its own! I guess you'll be saving the seed but you may find it sows it own...
Glad your verbascum have flowered. I bought three young plants this spring and something has eaten nearly all of all of them. Probably snails as our garden is beginning to resemble a Snails Refuge.
Good luck with the greenhouse erection - a great asset.
