New project..

Here’s some photos of the path we had at our previous house back in 1997. I’ve decided that because I work from home and because our path is just stepping stones in the lawn to recreate this path. But with log edging to match the edging of the borders. Here are some photos of the path back then at the old house..
And here below is a photo of what we have as a path at this house..
And then here’s one of the shape of the new path. I will remove some of the log edging by the path to join up that path and the new one, and then plant up a few hostas and other plants through the sides/edges of the path. I’m also planning to re use the current paving stones as stepping stones through the gravel to tie in with that next to the pond :)

At the moment with the path I'm making the lawn will be split in half. My plan is to build the path, and then on the far side a new border next to it, on the side of the pond we're having a conservatory so there may then be paving on that half of the grass :)

Oh yes, I remember you talking about the plans for a new conservatory, a while ago!

Yes! We're waiting until the summer/until it's warmer! We're still undecided on a size and our regular builder is out of action for about another 8 weeks so we're waiting haha :)

I think that will look very good. Lots of work, though!

Hopefully it'll take about 3 hours at the most :)

Make sure you let us see what you decide to do. Nice to have a project!!
I do like stepping stones but I can see that a path would be a good idea in your new garden.

Thankyou! It's purely because when it rains it's too slippy and muddy to walk on :) and of course I'll be adding photos of it :)

It sounds a great idea. God luck :)

Thankyou!

Great idea, know what you mean about slippery stepping stones - you tend to step between them when wet so you don't slip over, defeating the whole object!
Anyway who needs grass? Get rid of it all, no more cutting, disposing of cuttings - more garden flowers, more pond, more everything, just less grass!

Exactly honeysuckle! That's my grand plan!!

So, have you decided yet Dan, whether more of the grass is being replaced with gravel?
