Rosemoor may 24

I think rhs rosemoor in May is one of my favourite times to visit, I must admit to having a bit of a rhododendron passion and you are certainly not let down from the explosion of vibrant colour from these shrubs. You seem to get such a variety of colour and size and the flowers give you a decent flowering period of a few weeks, just a bit messy and sticky when they decide to fall off. I have three shrubs in the garden all of which are in bloom at the moment and looking lovely. A bonus was the weather, as it was glorious and going on a weekday, it is not so busy.
On another note, I have just finished putting all my new plants in the garden, I really can’t believe how much I ordered, spent all yesterday finding room for planting about forty plugs, I really need to rein myself in when looking through gardening catalogues :) :)
I have just started watching Chelsea, and after we have been rained on for the best part of a year, I can’t understand why they have started of talking about drought and lack of water

What a beautiful place to visit and wish it was not so far away from me!
The photos you put on are amazing and you had good weather. Always a bonus.
Rick was mad on Rhodies and at Willow Cottage we had 9.
The family clubbed together to get quite a large one for his birthday one year and when we moved I dug everyone up.
It was hard work but worth it to see the look on his face.
The largest one, and to this day don't know how I managed to dig it up and put it in a huge pot, but I was alot younger and fitter then! lol
There has been two moves and the Rhodies came with us.
So I can understand you loving them.
Thank you for sharing this!

Perfect pictures of some perfect plants, Davey. I like rhodies but can't grow them except in pots so so I have enjoyed your shots. Such amazing colours. But my favourites are the peonies. Why do mine never look as lovely as these?
I laughed about your over ordering of plants. It happens to us all at some point or other. We have just done something similar while on our hols...
Rosemoor is our favourite of the RHS gardens.
I turned off Chelsea once they started getting on their soapbox again; fed up of being lectured!

It's years since I have been to Rosemoor but I have RHS Harlow Carr about 90 mins away. Your lovely blog reminds me to go and see their Rhodo's and trilliums, [though I may be too late for them].
your photo's are beautiful.

Davey, I love these photos from your visit to Rosemoor and really appreciate you taking the time to compose this colourful blog. I doubt we shall ever visit again, just that little bit too far to drive now.

Heavens, Davey! What a beautiful blog! Love your pics, absolutely stunning plants you have captured! The blooms are gorgeous, the colours and the forms. You’ve really taken some pretty perfect shots here. I’ve never been, but would love to visit at some point. I’m just enjoying your visit and our ‘tour’ through Rosemoor. I’m not sure I could chose a favourite rhododendron! They are all spectacular!
Although, the purple one keeps drawing me back!!!!
I do hope you thoroughly relished your day out, which I’m sure you did!! The wisteria is looking pretty too.
Thanks so much for sharing!
