Hi Everyone.

I thought I would share some photos of our entry into the Milton Keynes Garden of the Year 2013 Competition. We entered three categories.

Best Small Front Garden
Best Small Back Garden
Best Housing Association Garden

My wife Jackie and I both have full time jobs, so we have only been able to get out in the garden in the evenings and on weekends when we haven’t been too busy.

This year we got into the finals. A couple of weeks ago the judges came to our house to inspect our gardens, they never gave anything away on how well we had done, but after spending 20 minutes looking around they left. We had to wait about 2 weeks for the results to arrive in the post. Finally we received the letter we had been waiting for………we couldn’t beleive it. All our hard work had paid off and we had won all three categories that we had entered.

Hope you enjoy the photos,

Derek and Jackie :-)

Congratulations, I remember your garden entry blog in 2011, you have done a lot more to your front in those 2 years and it paid off for you, well done.

Wow! Congratulations! It just shows what you can do in a small space. And boy, have you two done it. I mean, you've got it all; arbour, pond, feature statue, beautiful seating area, and path. I love the 'wall' behind the statue. And it all looks so neat but interesting. In fact the more I look at the photos, the more I think, blimey, that's quite stunning. And that's before saying anything about the front and side gardens!
