Blackbirds

Our bossy blackbirds have had another family in a different nest. This means a lot more scolding every time we sit outside. They are very diligent parents. Screaming at magpies and ‘seeing them off’. Pic pic picing at cats. A fledgling came out of a hidden nest while we were dining in the garden in the evening, and made its way behind the garden shed where it spent 2 nights and a day. It is now ,more sensibly, hidden in the camellias this morning and being fed there by its very conscienscious parents. For a while it perched in full view in the V of the Hazel tree where it posed for a photo.

Lovely pictures. In the first one it looks like a birds head inprint in the tree just below the baby bird! It's such a worry before they manage to get off the ground isn't it, hope they make it. We've got one parked in the bushes and Mum doesn't mind us but gets very vocal when my cat Daisy ventures out there, she can't stand the racket and comes back in!
