A Busy time In The Maternity Ward!

A lovely morning, reminded me of that comedian who used to say “Lovely morning Mrs” or words to that effect; either Ken Dodds or Spike Milligan?

Anyway life in the pond! I think roughly 10’000 frogspawn were delivered today, with plenty more to come[Jeff will be pleased, but not a lot]
I have never observed them so post delivery before. There was lots of activity, much chirruping, and what appeared to be a general air of festivity; but what was quite striking was that they stayed very close to the newborn.
The boys were still giving chase but they were shaken off. There were at least two couples still attached.
Lots of seedlings coming through in the greenhouse, and I’ve planted herbs and sundry seeds from our travels this afternoon, but it became very cold!
Ted came to stay over the weekend, just love him to bits; he asked his gramps why the house is painted pink—he couldn’t really answer that one.

I`m watching my ponds as well, there is a lot of activity but no spawn as yet, I always keep our fishpond covered for protection fron our cats and the herons but as of last week I now have covered the bottom pond as well, that is because our dogs are much too interested in what is going on at the moment and will not leave well alone,lol..
Lots of seedlings means you`ll be busy soon with the pricking out, I hope they do well for you....

It's exciting to watch the tadpoles. I don't have a pond, but I remember going for a nature trip when I was in school and we saw a pond full of tadpoles. Someone threw a brick in it and lots of the tadpoles splashed out on the path. Everyone walked away and left them to dye, but I stayed behind and put them all back in the pond - and got a row for lingering lol. but I didn't care :)
