Good morning slug hunters,
QUESTION,
Is a snail a slug with a caravan on its back?

The weather here is just a little over cast but still warm, and ideal time to trim the topiary, (and then give them a little hose -pipe shower)

Ive a few topiary cats, bear, peacock , a horse etc so they could do with a clipping,
its forcast sunny after 12 noon so its a good time to do those sorts of jobs before it gets hot.

The base’s of the fruit trees are coming along nice, soil & compost mix weeded and turned over tilthed and tagete seeds sown so in a few weeks time they should look like nice circles of orange and yellow flowers.

It really is my favourit time of the year for fresh colour in the garden and the added bonus of all the birds are happy with plenty of bugs/insects to feed on.

The Lavender attracs the bee’s and one of the best things i did do was to sow a full border with wild flower seeds this really attracts all sorts of butterfly and dragon flies etc, well worth doing and a very cheap way of having a border full of a lot of flowers we dont see to offten these days.

Ive another bird nesting box to find a home for,
It’s one i made ages ago and its sat on a shelf in the work shop so its time it was put to some good use
By putting it out now the birds will get use to seeing it and next spring i hope will use it or even in the winter find shelter in it?
It’s all made from scrap wood i had laying around but if you went to buy such a box from the garden centre’s it’ll cost you a packet.

Well i can smell the coffee pot and so for now ,
Have a nice day and enjoy your garden’s.

We're on orange flood alert! And the storm was so bad last night that one of the dogs jumped the baby-gate, which keeps them in their quarters at night...from a standing start! :(

Hi Karren,
We've not had any storms here last night, todays been hot but very over cast at times,

One of our four dogs is really scared of the thunder so i'll keep an eye on the weather,
I wanted to ask you something,

One of the members on here was saying about nets being used in france to catch birds,!

Ive asked my neighbours who are french and they've not heard of it being used in our dept and think it may be a south of france thing,

Have you ever heard of this netting wild birds thing?

I think it is a south of France thing, Dungy...that is, if they STILL do it, at all..

Italians used to trap larks, in nets - just for their tongues...a delicacy...or so I'm told...

So, I suppose there must be a blurry bit, around the borders...

We both live in rural France, though, Dungy...
...so we both know and appreciate what they've, traditionally, done...both good AND bad...

...so, although, there might be some who still go there, I think that they're a dying breed.

Good Evening Dungy, pleased to announce it even felt like summer in my garden today as well, bit overcast and hardly any sunshine but the wind has dropped and its been really muggy, I could hear the thunder rumbling away in the distance and the dogs were very unsettled, cut my front hedge and the back lawns, took me all day as I had to keep stopping to rest my knee but I've had a very enjoyable day.....
Hope you do not get the floods Karen...
