The Terrace Saga

I think I may have mentioned that we planned to do something about the state of our poor terrace. All the rain we had here in the supposedly “sunny South” had really played havoc with the paving slabs. Weeds, moss, and odd fungi sprouted all over the place and the terrace lookd BAD!
With the coming of better weather we had a blitz. I scraped all the weeds and moss from in between the slabs then my husband used the Pointmaster tool we had seen on line to place the cement in between the narrow crevices. Although it wasn’t as easy as the expert made out it worked a treat. I took lots of images and then somehow deleted most of them accidentally. However the following shows how the tool works.
The sunshine helped to dry out the cement and then we pressure-washed the whole place taking our time to do so. The end result is a very clean-looking, weed-free terrace.

Very nice too...just in time for the hot weekend!
I must say you made me laugh as I'd seen the advert for that tool(in my gardening magazine, I think) and , being a very reluctant and hopeless DIYer, I sneeringly showed it to my wife and said "I guarantee that isn't as easy as they make it look"

No we let the cement set for days. We have missed one or two bits but it's too hot to work this week! It does look good though. :O)

Paulthegard: No, but it really is GOOD! I imagine for stone walls it would be much easier. Like everything it needs practice.
