Magnolias

Lovely, but so fleeting

Absolutely lovely, and what considerate tree fellers! :)

I've just looked at the images again and they are very poor: don't convey any beauty at all.

I blame the camera! Its a Panasonic Lumix and I have never liked it. My Casio took vastly superior images but the firm seems to have stopped manufacturing cameras.

Grandad gar: Actually the flowers last quite a while, unless there's a frost! An old gardener used to say magnolias were "wise" : they knew when to appear and when to hold back!

Karen: They know what they are doing! I've heard how some ride rough-shod over a garden. This team didn't. Maybe it was because our daughter kept them well supplied with coffee, tea, cakes and sweets!

I take all my photos on a panasonic lumix but I have it on the greater definition settings OH sorted it for me. but I always have to edit photos so they fit the criteria for posting on here.

the trees/shrubs are lovely. Some tree surgeons are really sympathetic to the other occupants of the garden.

Magnolias are such a stunning tree, they may be fleeting, like Apple blossom, but a real herald of Spring.
Gooderstone Water Gardens have a label on their shrubs showing the height that the deer (think they are Muntjac) eat them off to.

I always thought the Lumix was a camera to aspire to? Maybe not. I have a Sony, and like Seaburng I have it on highest "best" setting on the silk purse sows ear assumption

I edit further in Photoshop, just to crop & maybe sort out brightness etc, no controlleing the weather we are dealt

What wonderful displays they have given you.

I had a Fuji camera years ago and only changed because I wanted a smaller-sized one. The Casio was perfect until my husband sat on it! I have acquired a couple of second hand ones but they are not as good as my original.

My Lumix lost its "white" markings (for settings) very, very quickly. Impossible to see if my setting now is the correct "best" one!
