What a Difference!

As I have mentioned we grow Alstroemerias and have 65 growing in pots in one section of the garden.
Last September when we visited Viv Marsh (Postal Plants), near Shrewsbury, we saw a new Alstroemeria called “Rock and Roll” and wanted one. It was so new we had to place an order and we are still waiting for the plant.
Last month we saw that Thompson & Morgan were offering three plug plants of “Rock and Roll” at the very special price of £19.99. Of course my Other Half sent for them! They are surviving, barely after five weeks of cossetting!
This week our annual order for more Alstroemerias from Viv Marsh arrived, beautifully packed and protected. The plants are all supplied in large 1.7 litre pots and are well-established. Viv will not sell plugs or bare-root tubers.
So great is the difference that my OH took some photos. I think you will agree that it is well worth paying £11.75 for a “well-established” plant as opposed to plugs, however much of a bargain they may seem.
We still await delivery of “Rock and Roll” from Viv but know that when it arrives it will be well worth the wait.
