Mystery...for now solved by you?

Some of you may recall some images I posted of very large bulbs we found when we tidied one of our greenhouses. Two have bloomed and my OH is still puzzled as to what they are. They could be related to the Onion family possibly?
I am positive someone here will have the answer!

try ornithogalum saundersiae though the head of that is usually more rounded.

I have recently come across Albuca nelsonii bulbs and they are huge and frost tender. have a look at an image of them and see if they match. it looks pretty similar to me.
