Look Out!

We have two young squirrels around and they are fascinated (?) by our cat. They love to sit just out of reach and stare at her, though when she is indoors they have the occasional forage at the bird table. The other day I had two doughnuts on the picnic table ready to throw out. One of the squirrels beat me to it. He was down in a flash and off with a doughnut in his mouth. Unfortunately my camera was nowhere around to record the action.
Today, however, one of the squirrels decided to do a bit of sunbathing while keeping a wary eye on the cat. This time I was able to take some photos and he was very patient until the very last one when his expression clearly states he has had enough!
Sunshine and a takeaway.
That darned cat!

Delightful little creatures even if they are considered a pest in certain areas. Yours obviously have a sweet tooth, I wonder if he shared it out, visions of a later tea party! Or did he bury it thinking it would keep for the winter?

I know some people consider them a pest and I can see where they are coming from, but I love watching the squirrels and their antics. Their agility is to be admired, I think. They are always welcome in my garden and love teasing my two cats and dog.

I like my squirrels as they do have some funny antics. Wish I`d had the camera when one went off with the doughnut. Must have made its day.
