when I was about your age I did the NCH half the course were straight from school and half mature students and we had THE BEST time, if you get a chance to do it its a great course-- takes a year I did hardy nursery stock and I loved every minute-- especially learning to reverse a tractor!!!
so I'm sure you'll really enjoy being a student, I honestly thing the mature students got much more from the course than the youngsters --happy learning---

Good Luck it sounds good. Dress like a student I'm a Hoody nearly all the time at 47 the zip front type my excuse is so I can keep my phone on me in case I fall. Lol :~)

Hi Terra :~)) always but always a joy to hear from you again. Hope Conker improving every day,especially with this wonderful sunshine. Raff says 'Ruff, woof woof whine whine, Conker, slurp, ruff woof, Truffle, slurp slurp, arooooo!' I don't quite know what that meant in human talk, but gather it's very complimentary in canine~speak lol! Yes, my lad now 5 years old today, and loving all the time I'm spending in the garden,(when not on GoY that is), he loves the sun, and always sits watching us work~think he was a Supervisor in his last life lol! Think this Garden History Course could prove really interesting, and it will be fun to blog, and give me much needed practice ha ha ha, as to dressing and eating like a student...........hmmmmm, that just might be a step toooooo far for me! Do they still dress like Goths???? :~))

Thanks Pamg, there's only about 12 of us on this Course, but we've got the same tutor who took us through the Garden Design Course, which is nice, as she knows us quite well! I don't think you are ever too old to learn, keeps the old grey matter turning over lol! I think it could prove surprisingly productive, and as you said, a lot of fun,so here's hoping..........Thanks so much for your comment, lovely to hear from you! :~))

Hi Gg, I live in Fleeces....yes I know most people live in a house....but you know what I mean lol ! Don't think I have ever been fashion-conscious in my life, so doubt I could start now. Us gardeners have our own fashion style don't we????

if you give us some info as well maybe writing it out for us would help your revision-- I did find on my course that it was harder to get some of the info to 'stick' in the little grey cells!

Yes, I would like that, just don't want to bore anyone, as know not every one into history, though I have always enjoyed it :~)) I think, because we all have the connection with gardening, it could prove interesting for more than just myself, but am hoping to lace it with humour too~a bit of a giggle can make all the difference!! :~))

Hywel and Flori, exams are a real problem - I don't know how many nightmares they caused me for decades after I wrote the last one - they should be abolished, there are better ways to assess a person's abilities.

For example, at school, any teacher knows very well how much each pupil knows.

Davey, I do worry about your fixation with sling-backs~do you think you might need help?????? lol! I don't do soggy,well, not often or when I can help it that is! As to sitting under my pergola,and singing, well, it has been known,but will pass on the rubber suit thank you tee hee hee :~))

Gurth, I couldn't agree more!!! Our new car decided to pack up just as we got to the College to take our Garden Design exam last year, and I was more concerned as to how we were going to get home afterwards, than sitting down working through an exam..........it was 45mins of hell, take my word for it! How I scraped through it I will never know lol! ( And it took 6months to get the results! I was a wreck!!!) :~(( Am NOT looking forward to week 10,when that dreaded paper lies in wait for me again...............lolx

I did an 10wk course on Garden Design last year, which was really interesting, and after a very long 6month wait, found out I had passed the exam, and the exam for this Garden History course is at the end of next month, so only a few weeks left to cram everything into this head of mine! Couldn't agree more, you are never too old to learn something new! It's lovely to meet another student in this field of study :~)) Raffie sends a sloopy lick over your way to say thank you for his birthday wish, lol!

There's a child within all of us, so I keep being told, I must admit, thanks to my crazy Goyer chums, I seem to be able to locate it all too easily just recently....Am a great believer in the gift of laughter, and if you can brighten up just one person's day with a smile, it is all worth it, lol :~))x

Hi Rich, well if you have stopped blushing over Pip's last remark, you poor man, in answer to your question..My OH has recently fitted a stable effect back door, but we now have to fit a rain deflector on the bottom of it to stop the wet weather getting in, oh it has been fun! I love my new door, but oh boy, it has come with it's own set of problems....I wouldn't mind but it was my idea, now the OH is going around with a face like thunder and gnashing of teeth!!! :~(((

Well, my OH has done a lot of work on it, (with much muttering under his breath!), and today it really piddled down, and low and behold, no water! We still have to fit the rain deflector, but that is not a bad result....so far....lol!

It looks like it is getting sorted now then Flori so that will be good for you and OH to have a new door :-))

It is a great door, and I love the stable two section bit (as you can see, I know all me technical terms!), but never guessed how complex a job it would become...., this could take weeks for him to talk to me again...hahaha :~))

doors are really interesting my friend you can get wooden ones, metal ones, plastic ones with hinges left, right, top and even on the bottom :-)

Open them...when I want to go in another room
Close them to keep out draughts, or keep the noise in my daughter's bedroom!
Paint them, varnish them, oil their hinges
Put coat hanger over the top of them or on the handle for my shirt
Have letters posted through them
Even lifted them off hinges and used them as a paste table!
Spy through the keyhole! lol....

Thanks Pam yes it was me, I fell in the garden about twelve weeks ago now, I am getting around much better thanks. I can walk quite a distance unaided now, I broke my femur (thigh) when I fell in the garden, I tripped over the leg of a garden chair, and hadn't even had anything to drink beforehand either !...lol :-))

The scenery there is lovely Bev. My leg is much better now thanks and I can walk without any aids now. The leg keeps dragging me down the pub on Wednesday and Saturday evenings though..it has no consideration that I don't want to go there.
