Aquilegia caerulea

Kat very kindly sent me a pack of mixed flowers, which I planted with the Sweet Peas.

They’ve been snowed on, squirreled at – but at least two of them have survived! One in each trough, there are tiny shoots coming up in both

Well, i’ve never seen Aquilegia caerulea, so I’m assuming that’s waht they are – if they’re not I don’t know what else thoy could be – they don’t look like sunflowers!

I don't think they are aquilegia, or if they are they are nothing like the aquilegias I've been growing! Good luck with them though, you'll find out what they are when they flower.

thanks, Lousa. I tore the name off the packet so now I've got no idea what they're supposed to look like. of course, when or if they flower, that'll give me something to work on!

Pretty sure not aquilegias, as Louisa said. Tbh, the 2nd one looks like a dahlia but can't be! Sorry can't be more use.

I planted a pack each of Sweet Pea and Aquilegia, then later added sunflowers (but only to one trough, I think) and a couple of apple pips.

There's at least four of these plants, in various stages of growth, so no idea what they might be if not one of the above, or how they got there. But I'll watch developments eagerly!

just thought: Kat sent me a couple of packs of seeds, did I plant the other one instead? but i got the name off hte pack, so...

Lol, we will see, Fran. At that time I was sending some packs also to other members on GoY, so I do not rememeber now, what were the packs I sent to you. It was a year ago or so. But, as it was already said above, this is not Rocky Mountain Columbine.
