i bought these"black tulips" but I can’t remember where or when [though I know why!]. I’m not sure if htey’re very dark red, purple or borwn.
I’m not sure what variety this is, either, but I’m not complaining about its colour scheme:
This is Tarda:
but I’m not sure that these are, as the yellow has a different outline:

Love these!

thanks all! Only a few of each: I'm not really a tulip lover, but these are all somewhat unusual. They're scattered a bit around the various beds, I need to ID the bulbs and put them all together for a massed display

Lovely tulips Fran. I also have Tara, it's a little beauty isn't it?

It is, I need to put them in a planter that's raised a bit, to give them some room among their taller kin.

Tulips - even black ones - are so uplifting to the spirit after the winter! Mine have all finished but they were so cheery while they were in flower!

I've been looking for plants to make a "black garden" to go with my blue, yellow and red ones. Few re truly black, but very dark will fit. Most have dark foliage, but the dark flowers are magical.
