took me a while to realise these were two different plants of hte same type! at least, I think they are; managed to trace the stems back to ground level and they are separate - the one on the right is actually growing in the tiny gap between my chicken-wire fence and next door's wood fence!.
cut back in 2014, then removed completely when workmen put a new fence up on that side: the platns had grown in the tiny space between next door's fence and mine, through the chicken wire on my side.
