AV Bloom

AV Bloom (Saintpaulia ionantha)

On of many more to open on my big violet, I think I found the name, but may have lost it again. I picked it for the loveliness of this flower 8 years ago.

So delicate too.

Looks like Kiwiland Treasure. This Saintpaulia has spread into a nice mound across a shallow 16 inch succulent pot. Really puts on a great show when in full bloom. I've added my link to my other garden pics. :-)

That's a really nice plant, GT! I have a pale blue African Violet that is double & it looks fantastic when in flower! I have several plants of it as well as several single purple ones.

I find them so easy to propagate they end up becoming "weeds", albeit, beautiful ones!!!

There is a photo of them in the bedroom window somewhere in my pictures. LOL!

Thanks to you all! :-)

This one really puts on a show once its going. About 60-80 blooms at once! Really something, that should be in June. I do have three more from propagating them. I like to give them as gifts since I haven't the space and people do really like them. I think I remember looking at your violets Balcony. You've a good collection.

You made some comments on my African Violets & I've just found the place:

They are looking terrible at the moment! The leaves are all yellow & brown, must be because they are getting too much sun. The bedroom face more or less East whereas where they used to be in the kitchen they faced more or less West & they were a lot happier there.

Mine prefer the east window, but light here is very different. I don't know what to do for them when they turn poorly. Mine have always done so well without anything really extra.

Most of the leaves will die away but then it puts out new leaves. I gave them a watering with fertilizer last week so I hope they will pick up again.

Thank you Richard. This is the eldest, and my only double. :-)

They should return Balcony, and probably well. I have one that never gets bigger, increase equals die off. :-)

Thank you Summerschild. I have posted the plant today as it is blooming so far if you'd like a look. This is just the start.
