Another African Violet

Another African Violet (Saintpaulia ionantha)

This one I thought couldn't get bigger, its a cloud of white and purple. Very exciting to look at I think.

Thank you. I really love my violets. The mini has already stopped blooming so something is going on with it, but these others seem happy as clams.

This is a lovely violet GT. Are the leaves variegated? They look like they are in this photo. Very very lovely. :o)

Thanks Gilli. Reminds me of a whipped treat. :-) This one got some yellow spotting but it doesn't seem to be doing poorly for it, so I've let it be. Its a little pot bound now, so I'll have to do something but the yellow spots have gone.

It is remenicent of a whipped treat GF.......LOL
AV's like to be a bit pot bound and will apparently flower better if they are. Some of my AV's got yellow spotting on the leaves like yours over the summer. I put it down to a bit of neglect on my part and they got a bit overly dry.
I've been cruising the internet lately looking at some of the named varieties of AV's. Gosh there are some gorgeous ones out there. I think in the spring I might send for some leaves to root. Too cold out now for them to survive the mail.

I love propagating AF! I've snagged a stray leaf from the store even. :-) <blush> They do sooo well.

The spotting is probably sue to inattentive watering this spring. I get caught up getting outdoors ready and the house plants suffer. My violet need a new stand to fit them and they'll get more attention again. They are all jumbled up right now.

I too have snagged a stray leaf or two GF. Hee hee hee......well, they just get swept up and put in the garbage otherwise.
My AV's suffer from neglect over the summer months too. You get so busy outdoors that inside tends to get forgotten.
I think I have an AV sport from a sucker that I took off a plant. I'm going to post a photo if you're interested. :o)
