These are very nice....I have gazanias from this yr. and I've taken 4 cuttings to see if I can overwinter them and also kept the remainder of the plant indoors..see what success I have.

I do like the gaillardias....perhaps they are more hardy and will survive outside through the winter? Very autumnal colouring...just what you need for now.

will leave my gazanias in and see what happens then holly,, will let you know if this gaillardia comes again next year and then maybe i can split it, fingers crossed ;o))

Gaillardia should do well for you San. It likes drier condition so in this raised bed it shouldn't get too wet through winter, that could be the only trouble I could think of for it. Beautiful bright things, I like the tatty edges of all the petals.

thanx GT yes the drainage is good in my raised border, think thats why my plants do well in there, glad you like them to, i like the tatty edges as well ;o))

Recently brought some gaillardia seeds on ebay San, 100 for 95 pence. Even if only some of them germinate, I thinks thats a bargain. Will start them off in propagator late Feb early March. Fingers crossed.
